Overview



Big Systems is a nationally recognized “Value Added Reseller” of Wide Format Digital Printing and 3D Additive Manufacturing equipment, software and supplies.  We address equipment and supplies as components of a total integrated solution.  While other suppliers have a specialty or focus, we are a one-stop resource. We represent the largest hardware manufacturers with a broad line of Aqueous, Solvent, Eco-Solvent, UV-Curable, and Latex, roll-to-roll, flatbed and 3D Additive printing solutions.  

We have “shopped the world” for you and represent only manufacturers whose products and philosophies meet the highest standards of excellence. Manufacturer partners include Markforged, XYZ Printing, HP, Epson, Mimaki, HSM CAM and Onyx. These product offerings are supported with special pricing and discount programs. We have a diverse line of media as well as OEM and third party ink supplies.  

We have excellent pre-packaged sign making options. We believe strongly in unique and customized solutions based on customer needs.  These solutions are not “one size fits all” but are based on the business diversity, unique sign applications/ environment and local market nature of operations. 

Our staff has decades of experience in the printing and photo industries, and several serve on the dealer councils or technical advisory boards of some of the leading equipment and software manufacturers. Our hardware and software training, advice and support is second-to-none! 

Hardware, software and consumable products continue to evolve and we feel it is important to maintain a diverse line of suppliers to access the newest products and technology.  This trend has manifested itself with new sign shop software management products, removable/repositionable adhesive-backed media and a new latex and UV printing technology. Latex printers offer all of the versatility of solvent machines without the environmental concerns and potentially harmful gasses or chemicals that are associated with solvent technologies. 

We are a Wisconsin-based company and enjoy successful relationships with corporations and organizations of all types across the country, throughout the Midwest, and have many happy customers around the globe.


Company Biography:

Big Systems was established in 1994 in Butler, Wisconsin.  In the late 1990’s, sign shop automation grew significantly in the graphic arts industry with the advent of new affordable wide format printer technology.  As of 2016, Big Systems has installed machines in almost every state in the US as well Egypt, South Korea, Guam, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Cayman Islands.

In November 2008, Big Systems was purchased by Joseph Jones.  Joe was a long time MillerCoors executive with knowledge and expertise in POP development, retail merchandising, national accounts, independent retail classes of trade and 10 years with direct distributor operations management.  In his 28 years with Miller, Joe traveled extensively for the company visiting retail customers and distributor operations across the US.  Joe purchased Big Systems in part because of past experience in POP Graphic/Arts development as well for the company’s strong beer/beverage distributor affiliation. Joe serves on dealer advisory councils for Epson and HP.   Joe is a member of the board of directors for the Food Marketing Educational Council and served as a volunteer for FIRST High School Robotics in Milwaukee and Broadscope formerly known as United Cerebral Palsy of Southeast Wisconsin.
    
As a company completing its 15th year of ownership, Big Systems seeks to build on its existing strengths while expanding the depth of manpower, products and services.  The Big Systems business model is based on a platform of growth with existing customers and new customer growth driven by new products and services.  The company website was redesigned and became multi-format compatible in April 2015. 

Our business model also has adapted and targeted significant emerging technologies in the industry. While we will continue to supply and grow “traditional” digital output printing systems, we have aligned and partnered with key manufacturers to offer new technologies in 3D Printing, UV-curable, Eco-solvent and Latex printing systems. The company created a new brand identity and moved to newer and larger facilities in October 2000.
